Scope and Contents
Plans filed in the Office of the City Clerk. The materials in this collection date from circa 1830s-1982 with the bulk of the items dating from 1931-1982. These records consist primarily of twentieth century highway layouts, land taking plans and railroad plans. Also included are city maps, ward maps, and plans relating to bridges, gas and electric, streets and highways, the Parks Department, and the Longfellow School in Roslindale, as well as a small group of miscellaneous items. Some items are in delicate condition and fragments of plans can be found in the Boston Elevated Railway series, the Railroads series, and under Miscellaneous.
