Historical note
The Committee on Licenses is under the board known as the Public Safety Commission in the Building Department. The Committee on Licenses is comprised of representatives from the Fire Department, Inspectional Services Department and the Transportation Department. The Committee on Licenses has the powers and performs the duties formerly conferred on the Board of Street Commissioners relating to the permitting for the storage of flammable materials and storage of vehicles in garages.
