The Real Property Department had the powers and performed the duties conferred or imposed on the Board of Real Estate Commissioners by St. 1943, c. 434, as amended, and by St. 1946, c. 474, as amended, and also had the powers and performed the duties conferred or imposed by statute on the Board of Street Commissioners in relation to the abatement of taxes.
